On April 7, 2015, the week of prom for Chester County High School, we set up a mock crash in hopes of preventing driving under the influence. The Sheriff's Office received help from Henderson City FD, Chester Co. Rescue, EMS and Air Evac. The scenario was a drunken driver with two passengers. One was thrown through the windshield and killed instantly. The other was severely hurt and had to be flown by Air Evac. The drunken driver and her passengers hit a mom with a baby. The mom was hilarious because she was trapped inside her vehicle and could not get to her baby. The dead body was removed from the vehicle and placed in a body bag in front of the students. In the end, "the mom" to the dead person came running and screaming through the crowd of students looking for her child. The talk amongst the students was the scene was a reality check and seemed really real. We even got a few tears from the students. To my knowledge, we had no wrecks nor incidents with any of the students driving under the influence after the prom in 2015!
