On 10-1-14, Shanna Fudge scheduled an event that brought professionals from all over Johnson City to Science Hill HS Alternative Center to assist the student with a variety of safety concerns. Highway safety for teens was included. SROs Lorrie Goff and Jon Demsey provided a D.U. I. Awareness table. Students perfomred fiield sobriety tests, completed timed children's puzzles and calculated their "alcohol" intake throught the virtual bar on the www.b4udrink.org website. Additionally, SHHS AC students placed "Buckle Up" pamphlets with smarties attached on the windshields of all cars parked in the SHHS AC parking lot. These pamphlets were additionally handed out to Seniors in our GOT class. In the school cafeteria, signs donated by the Johnson City Street Department were placed in the SHHS AC cafeteria, with the laws concerning each sign attached, for the students to view during their lunch period.
